Lirc stops working after some time
« on: September 06, 2005, 08:47:08 am »
Hi,

I have recently spotted problems with running lirc. At the start it worked all the time (when Pluto guys helped me to set it up), but after few days it stopped working - it starts and everything looks OK in the logs, but if started manually I get this :

Code: [Select]

dcerouter_260:~$

and it seems like it looses connections with lircd. It's funny cause it happens after approx 20 secs all the time - regardless if I press buttons or not... Is there any timeout built in?

Since pluto has its own lirc daemon, I would need further instructions how to debug this one.....

2 things changed that I remember and maybe could cause this:
- partial upgrade of system (3 packages are at new versions)
- when setting up lirc with Radu - we switched to stock lirc binary - but it worked for a few days....
of course maybe something else also happened, but I'm not aware of it...

I'm using ATI Remote Wonder (lirc_atiusb kernel module).

Regards,

Rob.
