1080i and 1080p gone after update?
« on: September 25, 2007, 01:38:07 am »
Ok so I had my MCE hybrid running 1080p right after setup and was configuring it and playing around with the media on my network. It said if found some updates and asked to install them on next reboot, which i told it to do. Now I've lost the 1080i and 1080p options in the AVWizard... as well as 1600x1200. The max I can do is 1280x1024.

I've tried downloading fresh drivers from NVIDIA (i have a GeForce FX5200 128) but that doesn't help (as i believe the AVWizard gets it's options from the DB... could be wrong tho...)

I've yet to try forcing the display by manually editing the xorg.conf file and inserting the size back into the pluto_main db, but I'd like to know why it was taken away in the first place... it was working great until that update...

Thoughts?

1080i and 1080p are not formally supported because the drivers have been flakey and give unsatisfactory results too often. You can edit the xorg.conf to switch them. You can get a suitable modeline at the myth site.
