I'm starting to gather parts for a hybrid core.  I would like to know what I need to be able to transmit IR commands to my TV etc. Is it some kind of USB IR dongle? Or do I have to get one of those GC100's?

you could get this. i believe its pretty well supported in linuxmce but i havent gotten one yet.
