Anymore updates on the MSI MS-7329?  Also, how easy was the MCE install and would it be a good board to user a both a core and MDE if you only had one machine?  Thanks for your input.

The MS-7329 is on longterm test with us now and has proved to be very stable and reliable with an excellent set of features. We are mainly testing it as a Hybrid/Core, a role which it performs very well, and in tests it has supported 5 MD's quite happily.

I was browsing for a MB and found this at newegg about a Biostar MB:

one of reviewers said it was ubuntu compatible.  Not a thorough review but thought it was relevant to the thread.

Have you tried playing HD materials on this board?

Just what I can get from my hd homerun currently only have a 720 P to test it on (looks good so far)
UI3 is fine and no more tearing like in 0704
Video drivers worked from start.

Im just trying to follow this thread and came up with a couple of questions:

1.  What specifically does it mean when you say "tearing" (does it relate to the image quality and if so, what do you see if the image is "tearing"?)

2.  I'm looking to build my own HTPC and was curious what a "Hybrid/Core" is or what it means?

3.  I would imagine that when I build my HTPC, I would want it to be 1080P/HDMI capable...  Right???  Isn't that the best quality picture qualtity?

I'm sure I will have more questions later, just trying to stay in the loop.  How in the world did all of you get so smart about all this stuff, Ive read a little and it seems that everything I read goes right over my head...  Im very excited about trying this, but Linux and LMCE is kicking my butt...

Thanks
Junior

You should do some research first. If you just used Wikipedia, you'd know about tearing. The LMCE wiki would tell you about hybrid/Core. Where the wiki isn't detailed or current, you can search the forums.

Just take a little time. Soon enough you'll be explaining it to someone else :).
