If there are open AMX specs that one can use, feel free to send some gear that works with 220/230V to hari. maybe he feels inclined to write a driver, like he did for EnOcean, Z-Wave, DMX...

a bit pricy and the gear needs to be programed first . im currently working to learn this .the good thing is it has ir's and inputs and outs and rs232/485/422 plus ethernet so it can work as a hub

We've looked at integrating AMX in the past. But when we've looked at it in the past we can never make it stack up as AMX hardware is so costly and does not deliver any significant added value. Its certainly technically possible however.

All the best

When you look at it, AMX is like Crestron...

Expensive, and ....doesn't do much.

Pluto, CHT, and the LinuxMCE community designed the LinuxMCE code base as a deliberate anti-Crestron/AMX, by trying to actually incorporate architectural features that would make it possible to...create....you know...smart homes...not just homes with overgrown macros. Wink

I worked for a major Canadian AV consultant for a couple years and every project I worked on we spec'd Crestron or AMX. Clients would pay a premium for these mostly because they perceive them as more reliable  hardware, not because of any features they offered.

As a residential user who can maintain his own system (or at least tries) the premium isn't worth it to me.

In addition to the anecdotes I've heard from many over the last 15 years, I've known four people with residential Crestron and AMX installations....they can't stand their own systems (when the MALE of the house can't stand them...yeah..), and they tend to walk away crying after seeing my system...
