When I use the alpha blending, the menus just keep redrawing (feel like it is flashing). After I select a Video menu, the whole screen keeps redraw just like flashing. The background picture is fine, but all the foreground keeps redraw.

Does anybody know how to fix this problem?

I am using a BIOSTAR AMD motherboard with a build-in Nvidia GeForce 7050 graphics card.  I am using the latest nvidia linux driver which just added support for the 7050.

I too had this issue. Although... and this is really strange... At first alpha-blending turned on by itself when I switched monitors and everything was drawing fine... just real slow. Check my "X, Transparency, and CPU Usage" thread for details. Then when I tried to launch the AV Wizard again it got stuck in and endless loop. After rebooting this issue appeared. My solution was to just disable alpha-blending (still UI2) by manually launching the AV Wizard. Again see the other thread for how I did that.
