Mythtv - Resets back to Menu (UI1)

I've got a problem watching TV, I've managed to change the setup to use my backend mythtv server and this works fine within ubuntu kde window, however linuxmce works for a few minutes then returns to display the picture slideshow again.

The other thing I've noticed is that the mythtv menu page cant be used using the MCE2 remote I have.

Should the mysql database that linuxmce is using on the local linuxmce comptuer be moved onto my mythtv server?

Orbiter will go back to the main menu whenever the Mythtv binary (mythfrontend) exits.  Look in /var/log/pluto/*Spawn* (ls -ltr sort by date) to see the logs for all the spawned processed, find the one for mythfrontend.  You'll see myth's log.  For some reason it's exiting.
