Hi all

Totally newbie to LinuxMCE, installed it yesterday (RC1.1) and it seems to be a great system.

The question I have is related to the "Force upgrade" option.

Will this add support for hardware I have (if existing) or is this just a "bug fix upgrade" ?

I have two issues to solve, first is wireless network but I think this can be solved inside Kubuntu.
Second one is the support for my remote and VFD. I am using the Zalman HD160 box and my remote is not working properly (no DVD menu and so on....) and the VFD doesn't work at all.

Is it possible that the upgrade can fix the remote/vfd problem ?

If not, is there anyone that now of a solution for this?

Thanks for your help

/Anders

the upgrade option is applying bug fixes but it can also apply support for other hardware. right now this function is not adding support for hardware.

regarding your issue with Zalman box, there is something which should make things to work. install pluto-irtrans-wrapper (which is a implementation of  irtrans package). i never played with this but it should work. also read this page http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Zalman_HD160.
