I get the above message on the computer i've installed LinuxMCE 1.0 to. Nothing in the forums has helped me fix this so far. I don't see any reason this error should be coming up at all.

Nope, I got sick of banging my head against a wall regarding an OS install that didn't work with the default settings so I installed Vista instead - 2 hours later it was all up and running perfectly.

If that's all you wanted, then why didn't you just stop after installing Ubuntu?  Or am I missing the point here and there is something Vista can do but Ubuntu can't?
