I just want to use lmce to control my TV and Receiver Boxes with a infrared sender on my lmce box.

While infrared senders are supported ?
How could these programmed (e.g. I use my current TV sender and how could my lmce infrared learn these codes ?)

Just my 2¢, but I've decided that I'm going to go with the USB-UIRT since it's so widely compatible (eg. HomeSeer, Pluto [Pluto was built around the USB-UIRT], Girder, etc).

Also, the USB-UIRT can be updated via the USB cable. Big plus!
