Hi im just trying to connect my media centre to a TV through the S-video connection.

The bios loads up fine and so does the Ubuntu loading display however when it gets off that the resolution/refresh rate seems out of range or something as it is flickering quite a bit and is unreadable.

I have had a go at trying different ones out but to no success. Sad

I have also switched the jumper on my ati card from pal to ntsc. The card is a Ati 9550 256mb.

The media centre worked fine through the monitor but no luck through the TV.

Any ideas guys, ive searched the forums but to no luck:(

Thanks in advance.

you must to find the correct resolution and refresh rate for that tv and put them in xorg.conf and xorg.conf.pluto. also, if this is not working, you must fill some custom modelines in those files.
