Hi,

My new installation of LinuxMCE 1.1 hangs on startup, in the final stage after installing you are prompted to reboot after that it stops on the “Starting Audio/Video Wizard” 52%, clicking on de detail button I see the script doing a loop process.

Does anybody know what to do in this situation?

Can you give us more detail about the loop process? What do you see?

I think I have figured out, i have installed the NVIDIA drivers and LinuxMCE without restarting and everything went ok, after restarting I got a stop on “Starting Audio/Video Wizard” as I mention before in my first post.

I have made another attempt to install LinuxMCE but this time I restarted after installing the NVIDIA drivers, and to my surprise it stopped also before starting KDE, I have followed NVIDIA instructions as to install the driver and everything went ok.

So, I think this is a NVIDIA driver issue

Is there other driver our other installation method available for Kubuntu?

Ok, I fixed the NVIDIA problem.

/etc/default/linux-restricted-modules-common

DISABLED_MODULES="nv"

i'm getting the same problem.  it looks like xorg is failing to start so it goes back and tries to load the correct module and start it again giving it a continuous loop.  i made sure i had a correctly working xorg with the nvidia kernel module before installing linuxmce, but after installing its giving this error anyway.  anybody with an nvidia card with the proprietary nvidia kernel module get past this step at all?  i'll keep trying to see what is wrong..
