i just installed and everyhting worked fine, i restarted and all i get is a mouse on a screen, if i press ctrl + alt + f1 i can login, startx and browse to its ip and login, but ctrl + alt + f11 its just a mouse please help

I have the same problem, black screen with mouse. I'm using UI1 and the vesa drivers.

Also a workaround is given.

i saw a similar problem and i solved it by renaming kdm.saved in /etc/init.d to kdm.

i dont have a file called kdm or kdm.saved
