Hi,  First off, i'm new to LinuxMCE.  I am an overly advanced new user of linux.  I am up to my waste in ubuntu, so i can get a few things done if needed.  I am having a problem installing LinuxMCE though.  I get through the A/V Guide where i choose what resolution and audio i use, but then after that, it goes back to the starting a/v wizard and i click on details and it keeps trying to send a message to localhost.  It says can't connect to router and a socket error.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

First things first, what hardware are you using?

The installer also leaves a log that you can post or take a look at as well:

/var/log/mce-installer*.log

My H/W Specs are,

Intel 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo E6600
Intel D975XBX2 Motherboard with Intel HD Audio
2GB DDR2

Anything else you need?
I have re-installed Feisty so i don't have access to my installer log anymore, but would be willing to try it out again.

Which version are you trying to install? 1.0 or 1.1...

1.0 runs on ubuntu 6.10
1.1 runs on Kubuntu 7.04

I highly recommend 1.1, much slicker interface,

I've only come across a couple hitches on the 1.1 install, posted quite a few times here.. along with the fixes...

The only intuitive interface is the nipple.  After that it's all learned.
My other computer is your windows box.
I'm out of my mind.  Back in 5 minutes.
