I copied a couple of Jpegs into the "/home/public/data/pictures" folder.  When using the menu it doesn't show previews and when I open the file it just shows up blue.

Changed the permissions of the "/home/plublic" folders and files to 777.

Any Ideas?

I even tried logging in as root and I still can't see images inside the LINUXMCE gui in the "media > Pictures" area.

Here is a link I found.

Not sure if it is still valid after a month.

It says that the picture viewing isn't avalable yet.  This was as of April 4th.

Can anyone answer this?

As stated above this feature is not yet implemented. A good alternative for now is to install mythgallery and use that to view your pictures. Hope that helps.
