I have a weird one!

I have a "Pinnacle PCTV Stereo" TV Card with TV and S-Video inputs that I've used with MythTV before (in SuSE) without any problems.

Now, for some reason, the card detects OK under the "Capture cards" menu, but I can't add any video sources under "Input Connections" for the tuner or the S-Video inputs --> the only option I have is "(None)".

I've tested it in xawtv and TVTime and it works fine.
Anyone got any ideas?

i think, like many other linux programs, that mythtv must have a config file in /etc. if it has such of file, normally you should do some changes there.

hello,

you do not need to configure any files in /etc.

The issue at first glance seems to that you may not have a video source created, since the capture works with other programs.

1. confirm in mythtv-setup that under video sources you have created a source.
2. under input connections select input you want to attach video source to
3. give source a name and select source from drop down menu.

take a look at http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Mythtv-setup
and http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/User_Manual:Initial_Installation#Setup_MythTV_backend_preferences_and_tune_TV_cards

the way mythtv is set up is no different then if mythtv was a installed by itself.

I have been using mythtv for years and I have never edited a file in the /etc directory.  I have also been using Plutohome for a while and I also have not had to edit any files in the /etc for MythTV.

Thanks.
