I am building a machine to run MCE, a few questions I have are.

In the demo online, the user drops in a dvd and MCE turns on the tv and dims the lights, what device in the pc is controlling this?

Is it the tuner card, blue tooth card? Currently my old pc has a tv card it's an ATI all in wonder with remote. As far as I can tell the remote interfaces with the card and not the other way around.

My next question would be if blue tooth is needed is there any one brand that works better with MCE then others? Seems all I can find online these days are the blue tooth dongle, will this work?

Any help would be great, is there a list of needed hardware?

Maybe I am missing it in that thread , but really don't see an answer as to what turns on the tv, everyone keeps telling me, you can define what starts up when a dvd is dropped into the dvd-rom drive. But what hardware is sending out the signal to turn that tv on? will a blue tooth dongle work?

there are 2 ways that Linuxmce can control your tv: infrared ( ex usb uirt) or direct connection ( RS232). I don't think a blue tooth will work.
