Standard Def TV problems
« on: April 08, 2007, 04:26:59 pm »
After many, many, many hours of trying to config MythTV as a stand alone on my media center pc I was overjoyed to find LinuxMCE.  I immediately downloaded the disk, installed and prayed that this would finally be the end to my dependancy on Microsoft.  That was until I got to the configuration of the setup.  The vertical and horizontal sync for LMCE seems set on a minimum of 50 hz (my TV has a maximum of about 30) and even changing the Xserver made no difference.

Help me break my dependancy and reliance on Microsoft and open my whole home to the wonders of LMCE.

You want us to help you buy a new TV?

Just joking with you, but what kind of TV is? 30Hz is really low.

Just a regular 27" TV.  Ubuntu won't display unless I modify the Xserver to that range, I get a nasty flicker on the screen.  Have already modified the Xserver from command line but still won't boot to a usable screen.  Is there a command area within the LMCE that ties into the Xserver that will allow me to modify the display for the LMCE.
