Questions and taking suggestions

Pretty tall order but,
Been looking into a crestron replacment. so first questions is

Can linuxMCE work as a crestron replacement, or like display manager?

if so what would you suggest for managing displays in a conference room.
Stuff like 2x(4|6|8) hdmi matrixes
support for clients to connect over HDMI/DP/MINIDP/VGA (yes still use vga from time to time)
Projectors
TV's
Speakers
linuxMCE controller heads
linuxMCE controller clients

Thanks for taking time to look in this.

laramy2020,

yes. But not without coding.

Where are you located?

posde,

Cool that is great to hear, we are in Florida and i have been doing research on matrix. looking into controlling them with thinks like orberters (just overly fancy remotes).

the matrix that catches my eye so far for bang for buck is "http://www.monoprice.com/product?pg_no2=2&c_id=109&cp_id=10914&cs_id=1091403&p_id=10682"

and with this i just need to find some sort of hdmi to hdmi/DP/MINIDP/(optional vga) hub. not too sure if that exists.

Side note, the reason for this search i am doing is because our local audio/video companies are being non-responsive and/or very costly (talking 100k here!)

Another note: The default configuration for LinuxMCE is to have dedicated audio/video sources for each output device, instead of using matrix switches. Maybe that's an option as well.
