Hi All

Need some testers, I have decided  to release this as beta as I have to still figure out how to extract the activation url.

I just want to say that  my code can be edit by anyone who has the skills to improve it, but for the moment its working well.

Before you install you need to install python-mysqldb
Login to a terminal of your choice.

sudo -i
enter password then press enter

sudo apt-get install python-mysqldb

choose Y

Once installed follow the below

1. Login to lmce-admin and disable the normal flickr under File & Media Screensaver.
2. Login to a terminal of your choice.
3.If  you want to instill it follow the below instructions or simply  download and view the files before running.
warning not responsible for corruption of your live system please use on demo machine.

while there

sudo -i
enter password then press enter

cd  /var/www/lmce-admin press enter

while in the directory run

wget http://www.piknclik.org/flickr.zip

let it download......

while in the same directory enter the below

unzip flickr.zip

let it unzip.....

Then
chmod -R 777 flickr/files press enter to be added to the setup script

Once completed move to this  step .

In your web browser go the web admin of linuxmce and run the below

lmce-admin/flickr/setup.php

when running  this file, it will take care of  the inserts to the database.

Once the file is finish go back to main lmce-admin.

Under Files & Media you should now have Flickr Private Photos, click it and it will load  the page to enter the api & secret.

Enter your flickr api & secret and click submit, then click the download file.

When the  scripts has completed it will say completed if if doesn't the python script didn't download due to the folder not writable .

Thats the lmce-admin DONE ! now to get your photos from flickr

Go back to a terminal of your choice.

sudo -i

enter password word

then

cd /home/public/data/pictures

while in this directory enter

python flickrtouchr.py flickrpriv

it run the  python script.

The first time it runs you will need to copy the activation url into your browser to allow  flickr.com to approve the use of the script. once this is activated you then press enter in the terminal  and then your photos start to download.

Cheers Govo

Hi folks

Had to rebuild my system due  to adding extra stuff, crashed it completely, notice one thing using my own instructions on this topic, was I couldn't unzip the file after downloading.

So the easy fix was

sudo apt-get install zip unzip

and everything is back to normal.

Hi Govo!  I have not tried this myself, as I do not have a private flickr account, but this sounds like wonderful functionality to have in the main system.   If you'd like to have it included in LinuxMCE by default, and are willing to do a little additional work to make that happen, I would be willing to help you make that happen.  Feel free to ping me on #linuxmce-devel.
