Gray Screen of Death...
« on: March 30, 2007, 03:02:11 pm »
Hi

I\ve noticed many people on this forum are talking about GSOD, i guess they are meaning Gray screen of death, i\ve had this aswell wth linuxmce,
but i did NOT have to reinstall anything as many of you mention.

Remember the webinterface normally comes up, atleast every time i\ve had it.
But the web interface might take 10 minutes to start.

I guess, GSOD comes because of ui2 not working, try changing back to ui1 on the Media Director site on the pluto admin page.

Just a possible soloution other than reinstalling the whole thing.

Usually when ui2 it`s not working there is a message "Orbiter failed to setup transparency" and then you must change to ui1 (static images)

Is there a way to define the correct xorg.conf for the orbiter ?
I got beryl running with my graphic card, and I am sure, I will get this running with UI2 as well. But It seems the xorg.conf for my orbiter is overwritten.

Thanks for any reply in advance.
