ATI Technologies ATI RAGE XL

I have a spare box with the above on the main board. Can I get this to Run? I will upgrade to a more current card once I get this off the bench, but I don't want to put money into this project untill I prove it will fit my need.

What I have so far is the menu on the bottom of the screen. But when I select any button the screen goes blank.

Any help would be great .

You can try switching to the UI1 to test the functionality of it. You can also install the ATI drivers for ubuntu - if your card is supported to see if that helps - it took me several tries to get them installed but there are several guides available that will help out.
