Dianemo S: UpdateMedia is not updating from LMS
« on: February 02, 2013, 12:30:01 pm »
From what i understand, the latest update of UpdateMEdia, should pick up all the informations from LMS.
There are several albums existing in LMS, but do not display in Orbiter.

If i take a look at the webadmin, the files are recognized, but all attributes are missing. In LMS everything is fine.
an manual updatemedia through shell or through Webadmin, doesn't bring up any news.

The latest update (released 13 Feb at about 15-00 GMT) actually contains a complete re-engineering of how audio works in the Dianemo system. We now use LMS to scan for all audio media and not UpdateMedia (UpdateMedia is still used to manage and maintain the meta data for video content though). Please read the Update announcement and the relevant updated wiki sections;

http://forum.linuxmce.org/index.php/topic,8880.msg95073.html#msg95073

After the update LMS handles all audio discovery, playback, cover art & meta data and playlist creattion and editing as well. So if you rip using Dianemo or you purchase non DRM'd audio from any online service it will work as you expect it too. In addition if you are an iTunes user then we tightly integrate with your iTunes now including dynamically updating both the music library & playlists directly from iTunes in near real time.

Give it a try... its nice :-)

Dear Andrew,

now its seems to work.
But there are two questions

1. Is it planned to add a "search" again? Which a hughe collection (30000+) MP3s is sometimes hard to scroll to an interpret or album. From my point the search function is missing

2. For audio "search by genre" works. There is a image and the text. If you do the same in video mode, there is only the image, withouth any text. Will there be a fix for that?

Hi Marc,

Yes we do plan extend the 'search' capabilities in a future update to the LMS package.

The video search uses the existing search mechanisms and as far as i know this is working as it always has. Can you provide more detail for No.2 above?

Regards
