I currently have a non hd dvr box.  I wasn't able to get the ip driver working, and have created an ir driver.  My problem is that the default orbiter remote shows the dvr controls and I have to click the more button just to use the guide.  Is there a better remote to use and how do I change it?  I have an idea of how, but I couldn't find a "preview" type thing and don't want to just keep regening my orbiters to see the differences.  I still would need the numbers, but would like to have the normal buttons on the main screen.  I know I could just remap them to other buttons, but that is not the correct solution.

If you need to. Get a copy of Designer, and make a remote screen for your remote. I would suggest watching my Designer screencasts (look at the Developers Guide page in the wiki.)

It appears that all the links to download designer don't work.  I know I had just downloaded it a few weeks ago.  Also, the screencasts seem to be down.  Thanks for the screencasts.  I have looked at designer before but had no idea on how to use it.

What links did you try? I just tried the first one, which directed me successfully to golgoj4's page. In the meantime I've copied a version HADesigner.zip to http://deb.linuxmce.org/HADesigner.zip

the localeconcept.com,  it also seems that the screencasts hosted there have been moved.

Please be patient, the box they were on was cracked, and wiped by the assailant.

I have reimaged the box, and will be copying the files back this evening.

I have also been trying to get this going.
http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Installing_HADesigner

Says you need to:
Install the Microsoft .NET Framework, version 1.1 Download Link
Install the Microsoft .NET ODBC Data Provider Download Link
Install the MyODBC Adaptor Download Link

The ODBC Data Provider link is dead. I believe that the replacement is the MDAC package
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5793

However it will not install on XP. Perhaps you will have better luck.

i followed the directions and used mdac.  i believe that is correct.  it still tells me that the assembly is missing.  im going to try it on my visual studio dev box and see cause i know it has all the assemblies as i actively use the data ones.

I have a copy of the odbc provider if anybody needs it.  MDAC is not the same thing and I was unable to find it on Microsoft's website.  Let me know if anybody needs it and I can send it to them,  also might be worth posting it somewhere that we can get to if possible.
