Dianemo S UPnP

I have bought a WD LiveTV to play with a UPnP device but cannot get to select it when playing movies. When I select movies from an orbiter I don't get the option of UPnP it just goes straight to movies.
I have checked that there is a UPnP plugin device on dcerouter and it does exist.

When I browse the network directly from the WD LiveTV there are 2 UPnP media servers available with no media. mythtv and logitech. Can either of these be configured to share via UPnP the movies on the NC or do I need to use another UPnP server.

Hi,

Firstly have you followed the UPnP setup instructions on the wiki?; http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Dianemo_S#UPnP_Media_Servers_.26_Media_Playback

In Web Admin go to Wizard -> Basic Info -> Installation and look for the 'Enable UPnP media browsing (experimental):' option - it should be ticked otherwise you will not see the UPnP option when you browse Video or Audio.

I have enabled the UPnP option and have installed PS3 Media Server on my NAS but the orbiter cannot browse it properly. I can browse from the WD live and from my PS3. What Linux UPnP server will work for Dianemo.

Hi Gadget,

Coherence, Fuppes, MythTV, uShare, MediaTomb, XBMC & Windows Media Connect have all been tested and should work well.

Can you describe in more detail how the PS3 Media Server fails?

The PS3 media server shows as a device but fails when selecting  a folder. So sharing the public folder i get the initial data folder, but after selecting data I don't get the video,audio etc folders. I also tried to share the video folder directly but got nothing.

Sounds like the PS3 media server is doing something mildly out of spec when returning the path to folders. Unfortunately we do see this more often than you'd imagine for what should be a 'standard'.

If you can give us access to your system and the PS3 the. We may be able to do some forensics on what happens when we interact with the server and detect what's failing. Let me know and we can the. Let me know then we can fix a time to take a look.

Remote access is enabled so you can have a look whenever you're ready. The PMS (PS3 Media Server) IP is 192.168.80.225. Username and Password is the same as the core.
