I've gotit going now.. i think installing linux-restricted-modules helped along with adjusting the driver setting in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.pluto

I can login from the web.. the computer boots ubuntu just fine..i can ssh.

also i have a geforce 440mx installed and it looks like all the nvidia drivers are installed?

anything i can do from ssh..

when i go to the ip it says to create a new user.. but i click on that and nothing happens.. so no idea.. i'm stuck right now.. any help would be great Smiley

Thanks,
David

The gray screen with lines is a garbled image of the first pluto screen that should be appearing when LinuxMCE launches. I had this problem until I installed the fglrx drivers for my ATI card. Previously, I was just using the ati driver that installs with Edgy. After installing fglrx I was able to get LinuxMCE running, but UI2 maxes out my CPU 100% of the time. I have to use UI1. It's not as pretty, but it runs just fine. I was able to watch movies and mess around with setup.

out of the box my annus. false advertising lol.

out of the box is going to be hardware dependent. I believe someone is working on a hardware compatibility list. If I can find the link again I'll post it here.

Until then make sure you get the correct video drivers and it should fix this problem.
