I REALLY messed up that last snapshot.

sudo chown -R $USER:  ~/.kde

worked for the Hybrid Desktop.

Should I download latest snap or go apt update/upgrade?

Well... if you have the bandwidth to spare, I would go with a new snapshot, otherwise you will have to deal with all of the problems I created on every MD you create and run upgrades on them as well because diskless create was run with this messy logic in place.

KDE desktop works just fine for me on my MDs

Not only that but it seems to be more responsive, faster.
