Can Logitech Media Server access a NAS library?

Hi,
Can Logitech Media Server access a NAS or otherwise networked library? From what I see on their web interface, I fear it cannot...

By default, LinuxMCE configures the squeezebox server to point its media library to /home/public/data

This means, if you have a NAS configured in LinuxMCE, it will show up under this hierarchy.

That's what I thought. But, unless something on my system is uniquely different / wrong, the Logitech server software does not follow the link to the NAS that is found under the default directory (but a simple 'ls' does show me the link, that can be followed without problems).
I must admit that I do not have the Logitech player properly configured yet so that may also cause my problem with the LT server. Once playing through an orbiter works, I will report back here.
