is anybody running a Hama remote (aka auvisio remote) successfully?

I don't have that exact one but I do have a similar generic, non-Microsoft version that was plug and play, I have used it with both the reciever it came with and the USB UIRT

ok well the thing is, I can navigate and the OK-button and even the mousefield works, but I can't get the other buttons to work.
I found a tutorial http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=63484 but my hardware.conf and lircd.conf always gets overwritten when I restart lirc...

any ideas?
