Don't mean to nitpick, but the menu items for live tv have mixed case. Is this something in a table or config file? Some are capitalized and some aren't. Some are abbreviations and some aren't. I think this needs to be consistent. Maybe I'm too anal, but I think Having it all Capitalized would make the system look more professional.

Do you want tv all capitalized, or live tv all capitalized.

And yes, the information is in the table Text_LS (and also on the scenario pages of the webadmin)

If you look at the menu once Live TV is running, There are about 8-10 choices. Just off the top of my head - live, prev., guide, schedules, off and several more. Having no consistency in how each of these is displayed make the system look amateurish.
Thanks for letting me know how I can change it.

Agree entirely.

BUT

I understand work is underway on a new orbiter to replace the old. Don't mean to discourage you at all, just making sure you're aware.

It's my understanding that the new orbitor is not for Media Directors. I could be wrong, according to my wife I usually am Smiley

So now you got me excited, so when can we expect said orbiter? Is it the QT based one that golgoj4 is working on?

The source code is in the 1004 tree @ src/qOrbiter, if you want to help out with development.

I'll take a look. Can't promise anything. I have a 19 month old and 3 month old. The 19 month thinks his bedtime isn't until 11:00 Smiley I would like to take a look at things on the android side of things.

It'll get a bit better when they get into kindergarten... it tuckers them out pretty good.  Until then, you're it!  ;-)

Thom, Posde, or gogol4,

Given that it's undergoing inital dev in 10.04, is the plan to make qOrbiter the new orbiter for 12.04?  Will the old one be deprecated or removed when qOrbiter becomes the default?

Just curious...

qOrbiter will replace Orbiter instances where they make sense, such as on-screen media directors, and devices that CAN run qOrbiter. For everything else (Cisco 7970 and WebDT 366 for example), the original Orbiter and its associated OrbiterGen, and database structures will still be there. They will just be in a state of perpetual release maintenance.
