pretty much anything will work. 0810 does not care honestly.

In 1004, there is a USB Game Pad driver, which allows the Game Pad to be used as both an Orbiter control, and an AV Wizard control (to select options and set video modes) Again here, it doesn't care, The default remote mappings I created are for a typical USB game pad with 11 buttons.

Does it show up in the kernel as a gamepad? if so, YES.

Well, I bought this $13 USB gamepad from Newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826249041 and I think it's either defective or not compatible. I launched a few different games and get the same result. Basically its as if I pushing left on the D-Pad and the jump button at the same time when I play any fighting games (example: Mortal Kombat or Streetfighter II). I read the wiki and I checked the Mapping on the controller. Everything seems to check out. Any other tips or hints before I replace this game pad with another brand?

I would call that a defective gamepad.
