My questioon, where is my desktop content? I expected ar leased a terminal icon..

You just installed the 0810 kubuntu cd? Or did you download the release or snapshot DVD?

Hello bongowongo,

Thanks for your reply. I've downloaded the linucmce dvd from one of the official mirrors, but it should be a stable one.

It's the 8.10 final dvd that i've downloaded. After install, i didn't have any mce icons etc so i've followed the mce installation guide for 8.10 wiki wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Installing_0810

Hello,

Well i've inserted the dvd again to install again, but i'm afraidni've chosen the option 'install kubuntu'  instead of the option 'mce'. I'm running the installer now.
Thanks for your replies.
