I've been reading up on this forum and wikis for the past month or so.  It all seems very interesting but I would like to know if there is a simpler and better solution for what I need.

I am interested in home automation and security, and sharing media files.  I have no telephone land line, no cable or satellite subscription.

I've been looking at the Mi Casa Verde Vera router and it seems like it works in much the same way as the home automation portion of LinuxMCE.  I wonder if this combined with using a NAS would be enough and not have to mess with LinuxMCE.

I already have a NAS set up and using an Apple TV with XBMC for one TV and Google TV with DLNA on the second to access shared media files.

It would be easier to use LinuxMCE and just ignore the telecom aspects.

If MiCasaVerde fits your bill, you like your XBMC setup, I do not see a problem in choosing MiCasa Verde.
