My Windows shares doesn't show up in the left frame of Media Files Sync.  They are listed in the right frame.  I can access the media on my Media Directors.  So there is no way for me to edit the attributes.  Any ideas why or how I can fix it?

See if you can find the share under public/data/other

Yes. There is an interesting distinction.

If you mark a share as Public, then the share will be symlinked to /home/public/data/other/[device name]

Also, if you mark a share as private, then it will be mounted under /home/user_X/data/other/[device name] where X is replaced by the user number.

All of my shares are public. Using LMCE directory structures.   I have about half of my movies in public and the other half under user_1.  There is nothing listed in other.  The only share in the left frame is the local drive in the core.  My 3 windows shares are on a Ubuntu nas.  That was set up following a guide in the wiki.

If you are using the LinuxMCE structure, the should be part of the hierarchie on the left side, i.e. under videos you should find all of your shares with their video dirs.

The only share listed is the local disk in the core.  On the right hand side all the shares are listed.

Here is what I mean. No shares are listed on the left, but they show up in the right.

Does the LinuxMCE directory structure exist on those shares?

Yes they do.  They show up in the Orbiter. They play on any MD.

Interesting

I've just tried it myself, and the shares show up just like they suppose to.

If the main thing you want to do is manage the properties of the files, use the media browser instead of media sync. Maybe that helps.

Ok thanks, I might try to reinstall see if that fixes it.  Is there a snapshot you recommend, or will the net install work.
