Will this computer work as a MD?

I understand I can use it as a orbitter hanging on the wall using the web orbitter, or maybe the windows orbitter.

Any thoughts?

probably not real plug and play, but it should work. I've used an Asus B202 as a 720p capable media player for mpeg2 content.

Honestly? ... wait just a bit....

That design is a very odd hybrid of an N270, with an ancient 945 system bridge.

It uses a GMA950, which while that would be fine for a touch panel orbiter, wait just a bit, for something that has at least a Pine Trail or Oak Trail system bus design, that is

(1) thinner
(2) less power consumption
(3) can actually do video output and run PadOrbiter V2 quite nicely. (i.e. with a Broadcom Crystal HD coprocessor)

Just my two cents.

Not sure what you are comparing this system with, if anybody knows please share some links to that other hardware.

Just saw an advert for a Viewsonic ViewPad 10 http://www.viewsonic.com/products/vpad10.htm. It has the Intel Pine Trail N455 CPU.

Unfortunately it doesn't have an Ethernet port, but it does have WiFi and Bluetooth, so I guess you could use this as a mobile orbiter - move between rooms and use the Follow Me function to continue watching the media from the 1st room.

Does anyone know if MeeGo will work on this? and the PADOrbiter2 that Thom has been working on http://forum.linuxmce.org/index.php?topic=11513.0

If it is an older Atom Processor, then do you know the differences between Oak Trail and Pine Trail

Cedar is a Q4 CPU (or SoC to be precise) , Oak is a Q2 CPU and Pine is available now.
