If you could assign a name other than DCERouter to your LinuxMCE core, what would it be?  My core has assumed the nickname Jeebus.

my machines were named Huey, Dewey and Louie as in the drones from Silent Running, but what happens after three...

So I have DCERouter, Huey, Dewey and Louie

Maybe I should include computers and robots from other films - maybe DCERouter could be 'Mother'

SWMBO calls my core "HAL". And when it misbehaves, she can be heard calling out "I can't do that, Dave".

Cheers,
Matt.

My Core is known as MCP (Master Control Program from TRON).  My kitchen/dining MD is 'Alfred' after the butler in the Batman series.  My NAS is 'The Oracle' from Greek Mythology.  My primary router/firewall is 'Gatekeeper' (from Ghostbusters, just need a Keymaster).  My VOIP box is 'Chatterbox', general slang.  I have always loved HAL, but would never call anything automation related in my home HAL, bad luck as far as I can tell, like mentioning Macbeth in a theatre.  :-)  Great discussion topic btw!

My entire network as a whole is known by family and friends as Jarvis, after the system in IronMan.  I even have GPO's that run logon scripts to have the computers (windows PCs) talk to you when you log on.  It'll say good morning, afternoon, or evening plus the name of the person logging on and it does the opposite when shutting down.  Still working on the smart-ass sense of humor... That's definitely a long way off.

The actual Servers and computers and other components are nick named after Family Guy, Simpson's, and South Park characters.

I like you're idea klovell!
Jarvis is great for a home automation system.

Unfortunately i just saw IronMan a few days ago for the first time and therefore decided to use "SARAH" Wink
