I've done some searching and I have not be able to find anything about it. I don't know if it's because I am not using the right keywords.

Here is what I had in mind: After you get home, you charge your cell phone next to your LMCE server. The server then connects to the cell phone via Bluetooth. When someone calls your cell phone, your phones connected to your LMCE ring and allow you to answer the cell call.

Has anyone attempted this or made it work?

Yes, it can be done: check http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+Bluetooth+channels

I wonder if you could still use the Mobile as an Orbiter - as long as you are in range of an MD for bluetooth connectivity. I wonder if it'd handle moving from one BT device to another....

Being a bluetooth phone, i guess yes. In fact, a new trunk will be created for this, and so, the bluetooh phone will the trunk gateway.
