I'm taking 1004 for a testdrive at home. Installation went very nicely, aside from asterisk not picking up (Foxi352 got the ticket already),
I noticed artefacts appearing after watching TV for a while, getting out of mythtv, running the screensaver or watching a video, then they appear. Reboot of the MD fixes that. Nvidia drivers 260 are installed.

Sounds like issue I was having, after some searching I found out my card (GT430) had issues with 260 driver (I think a few other cards do as well). Upgrading to 285.05.09 which fixed all artifact issues for me.

I noticed this as well running opengl or vdpau for the Media Director under the Hardware Acceleration option.

Changing this to "auto" resolved the issue. I am running 10.04 using the nVidia graphics on my Zotac ION MD. It uses the GeForce 9400M graphics chip.

After setting the acceleration to "auto" and rebooting the MD, the artifacting went away.

Perhaps this may help. I am running stock 10.04 nVidia drivers, I believe it is 260.

Best regards,

Seth

I updated the drivers to 285 and everything plays nicely, no more artifacts :-)

I just stumlbed over the last update...especially with nvidia-installer.sh. I forgot to clear it out, before rebooting after the update, so nvidia 260 is back. So I was wondering...since there seem to be a number of people having problems with the 260 drivers...are there any plans to have the 285 installed by default, instead of the 260s?
