Every now and then people come by and ask, if they really have the latest packages available.

The snapshots are the bleeding edge and most of the time are up-to-par with svn. However, the repo does not always contain the latest, but only gets updated after a period of activity and testing using the snapshots.

To see what packages are in the pipe to be updated in the repo, one can look at http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/LinuxMCE-0810_beta#Upcoming_fixes...

It lists all packages, which have been updated in svn (and consequently in the snapshots), but still need updating in the repo.

Hi,

I recently discovered an error in the distro's, i tried the last three
 LinuxMCE-8.10-23873-i386.iso     02-Apr-2011 16:16  3.5G
 LinuxMCE-8.10-23873-i386.iso.md5 02-Apr-2011 16:16   88
 LinuxMCE-8.10-23874-i386.iso     04-Apr-2011 08:14  3.5G
 LinuxMCE-8.10-23874-i386.iso.md5 04-Apr-2011 08:14   88
 LinuxMCE-8.10-23877-i386.iso     04-Apr-2011 12:16  3.5G
 LinuxMCE-8.10-23877-i386.iso.md5 04-Apr-2011 12:16   88
And burned two of them on dvd slow speed and installed but got an error. I went to the check cd option and revealed 152 errors in files.
So i put two independent from another on USB stick and did the same thing, test, 152 errors. Installing it on different systems, got also errors.
Installing this takes big time knowledge.

For as long as I can remember there have been 152 errors when you check the DVD - no more, no less. It doesn't make any difference to the installation, just ignore it.

Cheers,
Matt.

You should be able to keep an eye on viability of the recent snapshots on the wiki

Installed LMCE-1004-20120405032725810.iso in a VM based on KVM. Went smoothly up to the point where the system said it could not read the orbiter configuration.

ifconfig showed that the internal networkcard had an ip address of 192.168.0.1 Checking the /etc/network/interfaces files it showed that the internal network address was set to 192.168.80 instead of  192.168.80.1 Changed it via terminal login and  It's now happy generating the first screens Cheesy
