System hangs on House Setup Wizard
« on: October 07, 2010, 06:04:03 pm »
Hi,

today, I downloaded the latest DVD (LinuxMCE-8.10-23323) and installed it.
Everything was running quit and easy and after rebooting the system, I got the first image of the House Setup Wizard.
I can see and hear the girl talking - but I am not able to activate any of the buttons. Not with the keyboard nor with the mouse.

I tried and reinstalled everything - same result.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Dirk

Can you give us a full compliment of your system hardware?

Yes.

Meanwhile (after installing on a different computer), I found what might be the problem.
On the first system, I installed all the kubuntu upgrades, which were offered by auto-update.
AFTER that, I installed LMCE.

On the second system, I did not apply the updates... and the keyboard worked on the wizard.
So I tried that on the first system - and it worked also...

Ciao

Good, glad it's working. Keyboards can be funny sometimes, especially USB ones in my experience.
