You won't be able to use it as an Orbiter, as it does not seem to have a touchscreen, but a regular display only. To use it as a plug and play phone, have a look at the device templates of the other Cisco phones

Have been trying some time to get the 7965 configured, but it keeps rebooting and says uppgrading and then a fast error flash.

when I look in the /tftpboot 2 files are created SIPDefault.cnf and SIP#mac#.cnf
I used the Cisco 7960 template, also tried the 7970 orbiter but then no files gets created in /tftpboot

from where should it load it software?

any suggestions how to get further?

It sounds like it is looking for the firmware files.

[I believe] due to licensing issues, LinuxMCE does not include the firmware files in the /tftpboot directory.  You would have to download them from Cisco (provided you have a support subscription) and unzip them in the /tftpboot directory yourself.

What was the file name of the firmware archive that you downloaded?

It was from here:

V8.12 Download available at: http://radiotwenterand.nl/~graver/cisco/SIP-7960/P0S3-8-12-00.zip

wrong version?

You are interested in getting a 7965 working, right?
I do not believe the 7960 firmware will work for the 7965 phones.
