Anyone else had problems with phoenix solo usb after install from 23082 snapshot

I thought I would try a clean reinstall to solve some of my mythtv problems and was surprised to find that when i plugged the phoenix solo usb in that the whole systems just froze. Tried rebooting with solo usb still plugged in and kubuntu load just sat there scratching it's head with bar at about 1/8 of the way across. Unplugged the usb and rebooted and everything loaded just fine. Before I start playing with IRQs and pulling my hair out I was wondering if anyone else had this problem with the latest snapshot. I saw that there were some issues with flash so I wondered if anyone else had success with this microphone.
