Hia,
form the begining of my installation, everytime orbiters are regenerated, i get failure message on staring VideoLan-server and VideoLan-Client.
Seaching the system, i never found both.
The question is: Does these two componets still exists?
On Media Directors, there is the option of disable VideoLan-CLient, but not VideoLan-Server.
TIA

They were an early experiment on bringing multi room streaming to LinuxMCE. It was replaced with code inside the Xine Player.

As such, these players are not enabled, unless you explicitly enable them.

They are not actively maintained, and lack a great many features present in the Xine Player, and should not be used at all.

Thom,
thanks for the answer.
I did disable VideoLan-Client from the orbiters, but did not find how to disable the loading VideoLan-Server.
Any hint?
TIA

The trick:
VideoLan-Server
webadmin -> show device tree -> VideoLan-Server (under core) - delete device.
VideoLan-Client
webadmin-> media directors -> software modules - uncheck videolan-clent (if checked)
webadmin -> show devices tree -> VideoLan-Client-plugin (under code - dcerouter) - delete device
After done, regen & reload and the error is gone.

As these devices are disabled, should we remove it from the tree and web admin to avoid confusing users?
