Hey does anyone know if the handheld remote control that comes with the sapphire 650 pro card will work with LinuxMCE? My research says that the card itself doesn't have proper support.

You can use any remote control supported by LIRC - http://www.lirc.org/html/table.html

Keep in mind, if you use any other remote, other than the Windows MCE, you'll have to add it to your media directors page in the web admin, so that the device template gets pulled in.
