mkv-headache
« on: June 12, 2010, 10:51:28 am »
For some time now I experience some very weird problem. When watching an mkv-file (one that is acutally playing without prior hassles, renaming to m2ts or such), usually after 30- 40 minutes playback stops and I would have to reboot the md. now it would be a little less of a problem, if I could at least fast-forward to he point where it crashed and resume watching, but that is not possible, because that crashes the player again. If I  just watch the movie from the beginning after the reboot, it goes through nicely.

I am working on getting an mkv aware xine patched into the system. If you want to dig around in svn, look in /people/niz/ and you'll find a Xine player that has had the mkv encoder patched. You can build this with dpkg.

However, this is not folded in by standard at present, as it breaks VDR. I will be working with Possy at some point soon to resolve this.
