I am drawing screens for a Pandora Player, which will play Pandora content.

Since Pandora is a purely internet feed, that dynamically changes, the standard remote simply isn't appropriate here, so a new set of screens is being designed from scratch.

Here is the first one, the playlist remote (as seen from UI1 and/or touchscreen orbiters.)

Hopefully the different buttons are intuitive. I had to go through a few passes to lay things out well.

Thom,

as usual great work.  If you want some input I have a few of comments:

1.  should there be the std volume buttons on this screen?
2.  should the Song Title, artist and Album?  I see Title and artist but on Pandora.com it shows the Album as well
3.  I am assuming the pen is 'add a station'?
4.  Will the rewind key work?  pandora.com doesn't have this functionality only 'next'

Thom,

Thank you very much for working on this. (any all of the other things you are working on)

How will it log you onto Pandora? Do we sign in using the browser and once the cookie is set all is good?

Initially username and password will be specified by device data, this is very temporary however, and I want to create a Wallet PlugIn to store key/value pairs for a given device and public/users. This would be used to store device data that would be entered the first time a user selects the Pandora PlugIn.

It is temporarily on the shelf, while I shift to building an Orbiter based EPG for the PVR (MythTV/VDR), part of the long march to de-mythUIify the system.

I have about 8 years experience in linux (http / php / mysql / dns / samba / ldap / openvpn / etc..) and I know a fair amount of php/javascript/c/c++ syntax and programming logic.  I know a little about how svn works and I'd really like to start helping / fixing / adding to the project and I'd love to see a pandora player running.

What can I do to start ; any pointers ; any documentation I should start looking at ; any orders you guys would like to give to get me working on this or something else productive?

Take a look at http://svn.linuxmce.org/trac.cgi/query?status=new&status=assigned&status=reopened&milestone=0810+Release&type=defect&order=priority and work your way through em Wink

For anybody in the UK who is missing Pandora since it was blocked (and indeed anybody in the US who wants to have a look), check out Grooveshark, I think it's amazing. Like spotify, but in a browser, no (audio) adverts, and free.

Would the work being carried out for the Pandora Player be transferable to other internet radios, such as Grooveshark?

Cheers,
Matt.
