And I keep getting a detection "I detected a new plug and play device: DCS-5300(D-LINK / IP CAMERAS) should I use it" I have not got any of these devices, see my first post for my setup.
I'm not terribly likely to be of any real help, here, but thought I'd mention that I've received this notification at somewhat random interval, since 0710, IIRC, or at least the earliest available builds of 0810... I'd always just assumed that someone else' IP-Cam had somehow found it's way onto my network, and edited my security accordingly (I'm paranoid - If I can't verify what / who a new device is, I'll not ignore until I've investigated). Guess I'll have to look deeper into it, the next time it appears. If I may ask, did you happen to have any smartphones with cameras on the wifi net, when these notifications occurred? We've always got at least 2 around, and randomly on the wifi, so just wondering if that might have this sort of effect?

I disconnected all PDAs and pocket PC's from the router, I just don't understand why lmce has full internet, yet the over computers on the land dont. All I can do is ping sites, ie will say website fount waiting for reply and that's it.

you may want to try the following on your core: /sbin/ifconfig eth0 mtu 9000
does that help?

Network: Do you have DHCP turned on on the Linksys wrt54gl router? you should set it up like a switch, I did a Wiki page on how to do that if you don't know how: http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Linksys_WRT54GI have this router model and it is working fine for me (when configured like the page). Sound: Are you saying you only have a USB sound card, there is no onboard sound? Other: I also get the "I detected a new plug and play device: DCS-5300(D-LINK / IP CAMERAS) should I use it" message, there are a couple of threads about what that could be but follow Posde's advice.

Only the USB card is connected, I took the sound audigy2 ZS out as it doesn't have optic only coaxial. I did configure the router like it said on the wiki, the mtu command came up with. "SIOCSIFMTU: Invalid argument"

OK my networking issue has got to be a problem with linuxmce, I took the router out of the equation and just did a crossover cable from the laptop to lmce and I got the same problem, windows says I have internet I can ping any address like Google, yahoo and get a reply, even Skype is on line I can't call out though. If I try ie or Firefox, Google chrome, it will just say website found waiting for a reply. I'm stuck

Hey sorry Thom, I typed in the command and I just get SIOCSIFMTU: invalid argument. If you could SSH in to my box you would see. I have reinstalled 22 times now and all that is left to fix is the internet trust my I p*$$ed off, but ill keep going.

dude... do you not realize that paste is useless, as it's missing the entire left column with the interface names?
