Hey

I just want to find out if LMCE is going to upgrade to MythTV 0.23?
I have been using the defaults on LMCE and it was using avenard repo that was setup when I installed. But as I understand avenard is dropping support for 8.10. Would LMCE still be supporting this?
MythTV 0.23 will fix a lot of tv problems I am having here in NZ.

I know that Mandingo is playing with it, I am not sure in how far he is for us to use it.
Would love to test it for him

Hey Kezza

I am using the HDHomeRun DVB-T and the problems I am having is when I go on TV3 it does not decrypt the signal. I have looked at nvidia driver and all but was told that Mythtv 0.22 is not so cool with the H.264 codex. It is working ok on TV1 and TV2 just take about 1min to start displaying the channel. but if you go to TV3 it dies. Then Have to go out of Myth go back in a few time and then TV3 sort of gets better.

Andrew told me to that Myth 0.23 fix a lot of this problem and also has about a 15% increase on the H.264 codex from what I read on Mythtv's release notes..

Are you having any problems?

I had issues with TV (TV3 I'm guessing was a lot worse than others) with CPU maxing out and pauses when watching TV. Setup VDPAU on core and has been working pretty well as far as MythTV goes. After reading your post I booted up a MD that does not have VDAPU as I was having issues and yes TV3 is the channel with the issues. Keeps pausing every few seconds for half sec or so.

I think that was the issue with my virtual machine as well that I gave up on as MythTV kept crashing but I have a feeling I had some of the channels working. Will rebuild this weekend and test.

Great to hear it is MythTV at fault and 0.23 has these changes and should help a lot with my setup.

BTW I'm running the TD-500 tuner.

I noticed Mandingo loaded all the 0.23 into SVN last week.

Thanks for the info.

Hi

Well All my MD's uses the new ION nvidia. and they all have that problem.. I think maybe cause the homerun is a network device it put bit more resources on the process. I hope Mandingo can let us know when we can test it.
I would love to get my hands on it soon.

One of the limitations of the Ion GPU is that it does not do full h.264 acceleration...so h.264 will always use more processor than when using other more capable nVidia GPU's.

Hi Andrew

that is alright, I am hoping that the Myth upgrade would make it a bit of a better experience as what it is currently. The 330 ION that I have is cool and they only do this so I should be ok. Now I just need to get my hand on this upgrades..
any ideas where I can get the packages?

If Avenard has dropped support then I think you either need to wait for the 0.23 to be packaged for 0810 or you will have to build your own from sources.
