trouble with App_Server

has anyone else had any trouble with getting the App_Server to run? mine hasnt run ever since 1.0. i am beginning to think maybe theres something in my BIOS that i may need to turn off. when i try to run it manually i get a segmentation fault. when i look at the log it says "Device died... count=12/50 dev=15" with the count continually going up. i believe this is also keeping me from getting asterisk going.

I had a very similar problem, but my issue was related to the fact that I had no sound card in my core.

yeah i had seen that before but i have a soundcard. i took the soundcard out just in case that was the problem. still had the app server trouble. i tried the modprobe snd-dummy but it still gave me the error.

What output do you get when you run the following from the commandline.

Code: [Select]

/usr/pluto/bin/App_Server
It may given some insight as to why it is failing.  Just a thought.

is there anything i can do besides trying to run it? some sortof switch to give more logging? when i try to run it i just get the segmentation fault. ill check through the logs and see if theres anything worth posting in here. it was mostly just the count of how many times it tried to start before it quits trying at 50.
