I can confirm this error in my installation.

/etc/network/interfaces is not setup correctly during installation process resulting in a non functional network.

During setup process I had to delete the faulty entry in a separate console and restart networking. Then it worked.

Packages are installed as shown.

Still libcec.so.2 is missing. I did a symlink to a existing version of libcec. Now StartVDRClient.sh does not throw errors about missing library.

Code: [Select]
dcerouter_$$$$$$$:/etc/vdr# ls /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/*cec* -al
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root     39 Nov  2 22:17 /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libcec.so.2 -> /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libcec.so.3.0.1
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root     15 Okt 29 18:20 /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libcec.so.3.0 -> libcec.so.3.0.1
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 550720 Okt  4 01:39 /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libcec.so.3.0.1

But there is a another error when starting "StartVDRClient.sh" from the command line:

Code: [Select]
/usr/bin/vdr-sxfe: symbol lookup error: /usr/bin/vdr-sxfe:
undefined symbol: cec_initialise
vdr-sxfe 2.0.0-cvs  (build with xine-lib 1.2.2, using xine-lib 1.2.6)

Maybe versions are messed up?

My RPi2-KODI-Client needs vnsi-server. There is no problem. EPG and TV-streaming is working flawlessly via vnsi-server. Backend is working.

Watching TV on the local client is not working. it seams vdr-sxfe is not starting because of libcec-error....
libcec-error can be ignored???

Installation issues / Fresh install 12.04:VDR not working ("libcec.so.2")?
« on: November 02, 2015, 10:45:17 am »
Hello!

after my HDD crashed I had to do a fresh install of 12.04.
System is running fine except VDR client. VDR backend is working fine.

VDR-Client is not starting when I klick on "TV" in onscreen orbiter. VDR-log and syslog are showing no errors.
When I start the script "StartVDRClient.sh" from the command line it throws endless errors:

/usr/bin/vdr-sxfe: error while loading shared libraries: libcec.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Fibaros:
The Fibaros need 1-3 attempts ("wake-up") do be fully configured and recognizes by lmce. So be patient.  ;)

Aeon:
You must exclude them from mesh network und do a (or two) router reload. Your Zwave-Stick still has all formerly included devices in its database und will try to bring them up. It will not be possibe to delete a device only by deleting the device in lmce. After next reboot you will get the device back (as new device with a new #id). so my solution:

- remove the working one by (first!) excluding it from mesh network and then remove the obsolete lmce devices in lmce-admin.
- dealing with the killed one you will have two options:
1. reset the whole mesh network by completely reset the controller und start adding all devices again. This will cost you hours, since you must reconfigure all of your scenarios, configuration entry and so on (depending on your config). OR
2. just disable the lmce-devices und ignore this dead device in the future. Then you should do a network heal afterwards just to give mesh network information alternative routes.

I'm using two Fibaro Multisensors FGMS with no problems. The only thing that does not work is tamper detection. But i do not need this. The Fibaros are much smaller and look nice.

I finally removed the Aeon device completely from my home.

My observations:
- temperate is measured in F not C
- temperature values are far away from "reality" (x/1)
- luminance level is ok (x/2)
- motion detection is ok (x)
- humidity values shown in log, but not in lmce (x/3)
- device fires brightness level changes (1 lux!) too frequently what leads to unresponsive mesh network
- in battery mode it is nearly unusable
- use of usb power makes it more responsive

« on: October 08, 2015, 01:23:00 am »
My Gen5 stick arrived today. It is working for me.

observations:

- make sure stick is recognized by system (lsusb) => if not: try another USB port
- no auto detection => I had to create ZWave device manually (maybe I did not wait long enough)
- I updated xml files in /etc/openzwave with recent ones of openzwave project => don't know if this was necessary
- reboot core after plugging in => router reload is not sufficient
- reboot core after adding zwave devices  => router reload is not sufficient / lmce loses device connection
- mesh network is more responsive
- so far no big differences to old Aeon Stick2

important: When changing to new stick you MUST remove devices from old network!

lmce is using 1.3.1025, right?
This Gen5-Stick is available in Germany now, so I just ordered the stick myself. I will test it and give feedback...

My observation of brightness detection with zwave sensor until now:

- brightness value is appearing correctly in web admin in "state" field -> so ok
- I created some events: if device's (brightness sensor) state field contains values lower than 150 (e.g.) AND motion is detected then turn on light
- basically light turns on, when movement is detected in the dark. But in more than 70% of all occurings light does not turn although movement is detected and it is dark.

ATM I try to find out, why it is not turning on. Unfortunately I did not have the time to look a little more into the logs to find out what is going on exactly.

I had the same issue some time ago. My HDD turned "offline" for some reason I don't know. After turning on "online" again, media files in orbiter came back....
